Finally photos!

Even the moving boxes piled in the apartment, but so slow to clear the mountains and it is getting cozier. And you now have to also do in between again a little air to the really important things in life. For example, we have managed the nearly six gigabytes of photos and films of our wedding in Vilnius to look through and sort. Of the 2148 photos we have picked out the best and put online. :-)

The two photo galleries can be found on this page under " wedding in Vilnius "(175 photos) and" wedding "(100 photos).

Thank you for all the wonderful pictures at Ieva , manta rays , Klaus, Olaf, jasmine , Alfons and Angelika.

The best day of your life!

Unsere Hochzeit I take it the same time point: it was a beautiful day in Vilnius!

First of all even had a little worried at all in the beautiful capital of Lithuania to arrive. The volcano Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland threatened to cloud his ashes to the air traffic block and bridge-devised emergency plans, the route by car, were prevented by widespread flooding of the Oder and Vistula. In addition, even threatening to those who wanted to fly over Berlin, a strike of ground staff with adversity - including the groom ...

When all were (almost) arrived smoothly the gaze fell on the weather: rain, rain and rain again ... But the happiness of our day was stronger! With the ceremony itself, the clouds broke up, the rain disappeared and it was great sunny day!

The ecumenical ceremony took place in the Catholic Church "Dievo Gailestingumo šventovė" with the Catholic pastor Vaidas Vaišvilas (Lithuanian) and the Lutheran Bishop Mindaugas Sabutis (Lithuanian and German) instead. We are then in perfect weather with our guests to the historic sites Kernavė and Trakai down, have made great photos and have enjoyed the day. Back in Vilnius was celebrated in the small neo-Gothic palace Raduškevičiaus at the Green Bridge.

We thank you for this wonderful and very special celebration, all the congratulations and all the wonderful gifts for our friends and relatives!

An unforgettable day!

Photos will follow! But we have attracted more than 2,000 photographs and videos and there are not nearly all of us arrived. Until we have this huge amount of checked and sorted, it takes a little longer. Until then there is the ever amazing wedding video images from Ieva , the last week in Facebook can be viewed. If you have problems with the video or Facebook, to allow us to also send you a link to directly download the videos.

Update 20.08.2010: The video can now be viewed without a Facebook membership.

Our Wedding

We dared - Part I

Who could even imagine how infinitely much paperwork had to be overcome? And who could already imagine how much you can look forward to such a day? We have taken the first big step. The first step in a year that will change everything: On 12 April 11 clock, we have been in the registry office in Hamburg-Altona tie the knot. A beautiful day! Even the pleasant meal followed was full of great surprises and will never forget ...

A small photo gallery you will find on this page directly under " Photos "-" Our Wedding ".

Thank you very much for all the congratulations and look forward to the huge church wedding followed by a ceremony in Vilnius / Lithuania in late May.

2500 hours with no emails

The final conclusion of the 105-day-long period in which my e-mail system was disrupted at a critical central location, there was still time for 5 hours a complete failure. But half an hour, everything seems back to normal! To :-) I'm going to need to clean it all day after this mess! If someone is missing in the last almost 3 ½ months for a response from me: Please resend!

Andalusia - a few gleanings

El Puente Nuevo, Ronda

El Puente Nuevo, Ronda

The holiday in Andalusia in late May was great - I had written here at this point so ever. ;-) It seemed almost impossible for the 1300 beautiful photos to reduce it to a presentable level. In particular: What is a presentable level? In order to view them in the online networking site Facebook, with its fairly well-functioning access control system, it may be up to 200 photos per album. Such a reduction is feasible?

This difficult task I'm on the last train again being actively addressed. I have picked a more laborious great photos from the choice and now it's finally done: A new album with exactly those 200 photos waiting to be seen by you -> to photo album Andalusia

Note to all the photos these deserted areas and attractions. For a more cultural visit to Andalusia in late May was an ideal time: Very summery weather mixed with some local festivals and the whole outside of the major tourist flows ... the best sangria we had the way to Ronda. Unfortunately, waiting on the long road back through the serpentine mountains, the steering wheel to me. What a shame ... ;-)

I wish you much fun watching and have a nice weekend!

Gingerbread hearts, dominoes and biscuits - now available again!

Weihnachtsgebäck Several years ago we had still upset about that in mid-October, the whole Christmas stuff in the supermarket was. In recent years, the date of this lots of Christmas candy had continually pushed forward so that we were already looking forward to warm weather in early September to Christmas. But do our food companies like it to the extreme: This year the stuff is already a week since the shop and it's still August!

There are so many choices these groups to one simply does not understand that are simply counterproductive. For example, the ever more extensive replacement by normal yogurts skimmed milk yogurts with me to significantly lower consumption. The Christmas stuff is just so negative, if one is to squeeze past in the summer in the shops at all the stuff must be the season of Advent, the saturation level itself through months of seeing so high that you may not access it anymore.

The nice side effect of this matter: Last year was finally baked cookies themselves again! :-)

Was once briefly in the Baltic ...

25 Kilometer vorm Ziel noch ein letzter Zwischenstopp

25 kilometers from the finish line one last stop in Trakai for a photo shoot

About 3000 km had a little Ford Fiesta and I am the first August weekend spent together. Despite his advanced age of almost 20 years, this tour has the car passed with flying colors. In four of the five refueling stops each requiring "only" a new liter of engine oil for two decades old gaskets an excellent result. :-)

The tour went from Hamburg to Magdeburg, Frankfurt / Oder, and Warsaw to Vilnius and back again three days later. The 18 hours from the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt to the capital of Lithuania, I had two small passenger on board who were actually the main reason for this trip: For them it was "moving"! :-)

They could therefore also witness the exciting part of the tour, as were unexpectedly dark and the streets always wore the occasional oncoming cars comic mark: In the morning at four clock we were unexpectedly Belarus shortly before the border.

Profi-Mitfahrer

Professional riders

The navigation system would take a great (and technically also real, existing road) abbreviation. Only Belarus for the average Joe-EU citizens without a crisp visa is completely closed. In this strange route the navigation is probably come when I had used to Warsaw ten kilometers long freeway bit unknown to him (yes, there is something more recently, in a few places in Poland). The resulting jump in the calculated arrival time of about an hour I was supposed to make you wonder ... Well, it was just an hour detour on the eastern edge of Poland.

The rest of the way, including the 17 hours back to Magdeburg was with the highlights, "losing a sheet metal part" (no idea where that was once welded), a "3-Minute Traffic Control" (with a desperate English stuttering Polish police) and the "with at least 80 through the villages "be heated trucks smoothly unspectacular.

Kathedrale Sankt Stanislaus

Cathedral of Saint Stanislaus

All in all, all are good at and come back and I have had three beautiful days in a quiet household Vilnius.

PS: Even though Poland's roads do not have quite as shocked as everyone else feared - the next time such a trip (41 hours, I sat in the car in total) are planned with the plane! Besides, it is again "move" ... ;-)

PPS: Thanks for the loan of the car! :-)

1 ½ months e-mail problems. Solved? No! On the contrary ...

Never touch a running system! In the truest sense of the wise words: Since the move of my website, it goes with my e-mails topsy-turvy! Since last night I get my emails, only a very limited web font-end of my hosting company. This is so practical that I can find out not even know if I have answered my hoster forward to my support request. I just seriously think about pulling back to ... :-( With the website ... I mean ... ;-)

The sky over Hamburg is some other name!

Wolken über Hamburg Last week, I am again with a Miettransporter from Berlin back and forth across the North German Plain. Is rain with the Sun in Magdeburg, sun with rain in Hanover ... But as a delightfully ragged sky only about the North, threatening dark rain clouds, mixed with a few seemingly-deliberately-placed-friendly bright blue and occasional holes. Rain with the sun is most beautiful in Hamburg! ;-)

Otherwise, this weekend is finally free deal. It was not until this coming Friday, it likely goes for the two little monsters for a very long journey - the decision is tomorrow. Before the move, however, must still pass a lot.

E-mail problems

As I now had to find out after my vacation there for a few weeks problems with the delivery of e-mails. After the error messages, I know it is an improperly configured SPF check . This is another point I'll take care of in the coming days and rectify the fault somehow. More feedback for problem determination, however, are always helpful!
